Farrans Construction to build Belfast terminal for Dong Energy - report
Nov 25, 2011 - UK firm Farrans Construction will construct a terminal for the assembly of wind turbines at Belfast Harbour for Danish state-owned utility Dong Energy, BBC News reported.
Completion is planned for 2013.
At first, the terminal will be used by Dong Energy and ScottishPower Renewables, a unit of Iberdrola SA (MCE:IBE), for the construction of an offshore wind power facility near Cumbria. When completed in 2014, the wind farm is expected to be the biggest offshore wind power complex globally.
After the project with ScottishPower is finalised, Dong Energy will use the terminal to back its Irish Sea projects, BBC said.
