Italian renewable energy company Falck Renewables SpA (BIT:FKR) announced on Monday that it has reached the commercial operation date (COD) for a 12-MW wind farm in France.
The Illois wind park, located in the namesake municipality in Seine-Maritime department, features six turbines and it should be capable of generating some 28 GWh of clean electricity per year. Falck Renewables estimates that this is enough to meet the annual needs of about 6,600 households.
This wind power facility is Falck Renewables’ tenth in the country. As of now, the firm has 110 MW of wind capacity in France.
Falck Renewables plans to hold an opening ceremony for Illois in September when it will also unveil initiatives for people living around the wind farm.
Overall, the Italian firm has 1,420 MW of installed renewable power capacity in the UK, Italy, the US, Spain, France, Norway and Sweden.
