March 27 (Renewables Now) - Italy-based Falck Renewables SpA (BIT:FKR) announced today it has completed the acquisition of the 10-MW Carrecastro wind park in Spain from ASCIA Renovables SL.

In steps, Falck reached a 100% stake in the company owning the farm, Energia Eolica de Castilla SL (ECC). Falck and ASCIA built the wind power plant together.

Located in the municipalities of Tordesillas and Velilla, Spain’s Castilla y Leon region, the wind facility began power generation in February 2020 and has an expected production of 33 GWh per year, enough to meet the power demand of some 10,000 homes. It has a seven-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for 75% of its output with Spanish renewable power retailer Holaluz Clidom SA (BME:HLZ).

Falck Renewables has a total of 1,133 MW, or 1,096.5 MW under the IFRS 11 reclassification, of renewable power capacity in its portfolio in the UK, the US, Italy, Spain, France, Norway and Sweden.
