Exelon’s Continental Wind completes USD-613m bond sale

Oct 1, 2013 - US utility Exelon Corp (NYSE:EX) said on Monday its indirect unit Continental Wind LLC has sold USD 613 million (EUR 452m) worth of senior secured notes due in 2033.

Continental Wind, which develops renewable energy projects, will allocate the net proceeds from the transaction to supporting the general corporate needs of its parent Exelon Generation Co LLC. The offered securities bear an annual interest of 6% and mature on February 28, 2033.

RBS Securities Corp, Barclays Capital Inc and Citigroup Global Markets Inc were mandated to act as joint book-running managers. Credit Agricole Securities USA, RBC Capital Markets and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities USA were co-managers of the transaction.

Continental Wind owns and operates 667 MW of wind parks in the states of Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Oregon, New Mexico and Texas.
