Japanese renewables company Eurus Energy Group today said it has begun commercial operation of three wind farms in the Netherlands totalling 155 MW.
The facilities, the 30.1-MW Mauve, 38.7-MW Mondriaan and 86-MW Vermeer wind parks, are located in the province of Groningen, two of them near the port of Delfzijl. They were brought online between April and September this year.
Yard Energy, from which Eurus acquired the projects in 2019, was responsible for managing the wind farms’ construction. Vermeer uses 20 Siemens Gamesa turbines, while Mauve and Mondriaan are equipped with Vestas turbines, seven and nine, respectively.
The wind farms are selling their output to Dutch utility Eneco Group.
Eurus currently owns and operates 20 wind farms in the Netherlands with a combined capacity of 303 MW. Eurus Energy Europe BV managing director Koji Tsuchimoto said the company is committed to further expanding its business in the country, whose ambitious climate policy provides strong opportunities for long-term renewables growth.
Eurus Energy Holdings Corp is owned by Toyota Tsusho Corp (TYO:8015) and Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc (TYO:9501). Its subsidiary Eurus Energy Europe BV is based in Amsterdam.
