A subsidiary of Japan’s Eurus Energy Holdings Corp announced today that a newly-acquired wind project of 21 MW in South Holland, the Netherlands, has reached financial close.
Eurus Energy Group said it has bought the 21-MW Windpark Spui project in the municipality of Korendijk from developer Yard Energy Group, with whom it has a partnership. Debt financing for the scheme comes from a group of lenders including ABN AMRO Bank, Rabobank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
“Our partnership with YARD and strong support for wind energy in the Netherlands will definitely provide more growth opportunities in the coming years,” said Tetsuya Suwabe, managing director of Eurus Energy Europe.
The particular project involves erecting five Enercon E-126 EP4 wind turbines, each of 4.2 MW. Together, they will be capable of producing enough power to meet the annual consumption of over 24,000 homes. The output will be sold to local energy company Eneco under a 16-year contract.
Yard Energy will manage the construction of Windpark Spui, which is expected to go online in 2019.
The province of South Holland has committed to reach 735 MW of installed onshore wind capacity by 2020.
