July 28 (Renewables Now) - Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S has obtained the needed financing to realise the 38.8-MW Liskowo wind project in the northwestern part of Poland.
The company said on Thursday that it has appointed a consortium of Onde SA and P&Q Sp. z o.o. to build the EUR-53-million (USD 53.8m) wind farm. Its grid connection is planned for the first half of next year.
In Poland, European Energy currently operates 40 MW of wind turbines and has projects for an additional 91 MW under construction. Two-thirds of this comes from wind projects. As per its pipeline of projects under development, it exceeds 4 GW and most of the assets are solar.
Poland aims at a 50% renewable power share by 2040. As of May 2022, the country has nearly 7.2 GW of installed wind capacity.
