Vattenfall, Preem to study use of offshore wind-based H2 in refining
Jun 27, 2022 17:41 CESTJanuary 14 (Renewables Now) - French private equity firm Eurazeo SE (EPA:RF) said on Thursday it has purchased an 80% stake in Belgian photovoltaics (PV) group Ikaros Solar from its founders and Capenergie 2, a fund managed by French investment company Omnes Capital.
The acquisition is the first deal in line with Eurazeo’s plan to invest in the energy and digital transition and contribute to a low-carbon and sustainable economy. Eurazeo has committed to invest up to EUR 45 million (USD 51.6m).
According to the statement, Eurazeo will provide Ikaros Solar with capital to grow organically and through bolt-on acquisitions, helping it become a European independent power producer.
Ikaros Solar develops, builds, owns and operates rooftop and ground mounted solar PV power plants across Benelux, France, Portugal and the UK. The company has installed over 200 MWp and has an additional 300 MWp development pipeline.
