EU may start legal proceedings against member states over green energy plans - report

(ADPnews) - Sep 30, 2010 - The European Commission plans to take legal action against six member states -- Belgium, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Poland and Slovakia, over green energy targets, news agency Bloomberg wrote on Thursday.

The commission sent letters of formal notice to the countries, asking them to provide their national renewable energy action plans, which will ensure that targets for renewable power are achieved, the agency said, citing Marlene Holzer, a spokeswoman for EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger.
