January 9 (Renewables Now) - Swedish wind project developer Eolus Vind AB (STO:EOLU-B) has signed a grid-connection agreement with E.on Elnat for two wind farms in Sundsvall municipality totalling 232 MW.

Eolus announced the signing of the deal a few days after saying it had awarded a turn-key construction contract to Veidekke for the same two wind parks, namely Kraktorpet and Nylandsbergen. The balance of plant contract covers construction of roads, crane pads, foundations, internal electrical grid and communication network.

German investment firm Aquila Capital will acquire the two wind parks, as agreed last month. The two plants will consist of 61 Vestas turbines that are expected to go online in the second half of 2019. They will be erected close to Eolus’ 79-MW Jenasen wind farm that is currently being built in Sundsvall municipality.

All three wind farms will benefit from a new national grid substation in Nysater, Eolus said.
