Enviva signs biomass supply deal for two 50-MW plants
Oct 20, 2011 - US-based biomass fuel producer Enviva LP said on Wednesday it has signed a deal with energy generator Dominion Virginia Power to supply woody biomass fuel to two 50-MW plants in Virginia.
The deal comes after Dominion unveiled plans in April to convert three 63-MW coal-fired power stations to 50-MW biomass-fuelled plants. Enviva has been selected to provide biomass to two of the facilities, in Southampton and Hopewell.
Dominion is awaiting approval for the conversion from the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
