Enovos Luxembourg to build 10-MW wind farm in France
Dec 14, 2011 - Energy provider Enovos Luxembourg SA, a wholly-owned unit of Luxembourg-based Enovos International SA, today announced it would set up a 10-MW wind farm in Souilly, northern France, to expand its renewable energy generation sources.
The wind farm will include five Vestas turbines of 2 MW capacity each and is expected to generate 20 million kWh of electricity, enough to power 5,500 homes and save 9,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.
Enovos will start infrastructure works on the project in January 2012. The wind farm is slated for commissioning in September 2012.
This will be the company's second wind farm in France, after the 12-MW La Benate wind farm, acquired in 2010.
According to Daniel Christian, head of Renewable Energies and Cogeneration at Enovos Luxembourg, the Souilly wind farm will bring the company's total installed renewable energy capacity to 270 MW, spread in Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy.
