September 13 (Renewables Now) - German wind project developer Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKT) has signed a supply agreement with fellow German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) for over 300 MW of turbines.

Under the deal, inked yesterday, Nordex will supply the latest generation of turbines over several years for installation at projects in Germany. The first joint projects are due to start operations next year, Energiekontor said. According to the developer, the agreement will help it successfully participate in future auctions.

"We would like to thank [Nordex' German head Joerg Hempel] and his colleagues for their confidence in us, as they expect that the projects initiated together will be able to come out successfully in the auctions to be held in the coming years," Energiekontor chief execuitive Peter Szabo. He added that the deal provides the company with "a predictable basis for the profitable implementation of wind farms in the coming years."
