Enel Green Power launches 66 MW wind power capacity in Spain, Portugal

Dec 1, 2011 - Italy's Enel Green Power (BIT:EGPW) has launched two wind farms in Spain and raised the installed capacity of a plant in Portugal, adding 66 MW of power in the two countries, Enel's (BIT:ENEL) renewables company said on Thursday.
Enel Green Power started two wind plants in Spain, a 38-MW near Burgos, in Spain's Castile and Leon region, and another of 24 MW near Cadiz, in the Andalusia region.
The two plants are expected to generate over 151 GWh a year avoiding the emission of 112,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
Enel Green Power also added 4 MW to its Alvaiazere wind farm in Portugal, raising its installed capacity to 18 MW. The plant will generate 50.2 GWh a year after the expansion.
Enel Green Power operates in Spain and Portugal through Enel Green Power Espana (EGPE), 60% held by Enel Green Power and 40% by Spain's Endesa (MCE:ELE).
