Naturgy breaks ground on 300-MWp solar park in Texas
May 18, 2022 15:14 CESTDecember 10 (Renewables Now) - Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE) said today its renewables unit Enel Green Power Espana (EGPE) has connected to the grid a 20-MW wind farm in Spain.
The company invested EUR 23 million (USD 25.5m) in the Ampliacion los LLanos park. Its ten 2-MW wind turbines will produce some 78 GWh per year of clean power, enough to offset 51,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
Ampliacion los LLanos is located in the municipalities of Cogollos and Hontoria de la Cantera, Burgos province. It is part of the 540 MW of wind capacity that EGPE secured in a Spanish renewable energy auction held in 2017. Last week, EGPE put 74 MW of wind online, also part of the awarded portfolio.
This wind park is another step EGPE takes in order to reach its goal of having 10.2 GW of renewable installed capacity by 2022.
