Italy’s Enel Green Power SpA (BIT:EGPW), or EGP, said Tuesday it has plugged in the 200-MW Goodwell wind farm in the US state of Oklahoma, the construction of which took up some USD 310 million (EUR 282m).
Goodwell is one of the largest wind parks in the 2.2-GW-plus portfolio of Enel Green Power North America Inc (EGPNA), consisting of over 90 plants in 21 US states and two Canadian provinces.
The 200-MW wind farm has the capacity to generate about 860 million kWh of electricity per year, enough to cover the annual power consumption of more than 73,000 local homes and avoid the emission of nearly 450,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, Enel Green said.
The plant has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in place.
