Enefit picks Nordex turbines for 80-MW wind project in Lithuania

Estonian renewables developer Enefit Green AS (TAL:EGR1T) has contracted Germany’s Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) for the supply of turbines for its 80-MW Kelme I wind farm project in Lithuania.

The deal calls for the wind turbine manufacturer to supply and install 14 of its machines with a nominal capacity of 5.7 MW each and take care of their maintenance over a 32-year period. The value of the award, including the maintenance job, stands at EUR 109 million (USD 116.8m).

Enefit Green took a final investment decision on Kelme I, along with the 255-MW Sopi-Tootsi in Estonia, in December last year, pledging to spend close to EUR 450 million for the two schemes. It signed loan agreements to finance the projects and other schemes in Poland and Finland earlier in 2023.

Both the Kelme I and Sopi-Tootsi, which will also be equipped with Nordex hardware, are planned to start power production in 2024.
