Eneco, UWind sell out bonds for wind farm Houten

Sep 26, 2013 - Dutch energy company Eneco and local cooperative UWind have placed all the bonds for the three turbines of wind farm Houten, the utility said today.

A total of 701 individuals subscribed for nearly 8,000 bonds bearing a coupon of 4% to 5.5%. Eneco's offer comprised just 5,000 bonds, so the company used a distribution code to divide the bonds.

A total of 232 residents of Houten and 66 members of UWind, a local organisation promoting the use of renewable power, took part in the subscription. The remaining participants came from other parts of the Netherlands.

Wind farm Houten consists of three windmills, each with a capacity of 2.0 MW. Together, they will supply more than 16.4 million kWh of electricity a year, which is equal to the consumption of about 4,700 households. The turbines will be operational as of October 1.
