Ence to complete launch of 20-MW biomass plant in Merida by year-end
Jul 30, 2014 - Spanish power utility and pulp manufacturer Ence (BME:ENC) will have its new, 20-MW biomass plant in Merida fully operational at the end of 2014 after completing test operations, energy manager Jordi Aguilo said Tuesday.
The company needs some months to complete adjustments although the plant has already reached full-scale operation, according to Aguilo.
The facility sold 14 GWh until the end of June, Ence said in a report today.
With the new plant, launched earlier than planned, Ence increases its installed biomass capacity by 9% to 250 MW and its annual power output -- by 160 GWh.
The company has announced a plan to install two new biomass plants of 70 MW each on the Gran Canaria island.
