January 12 (Renewables Now) - The asset management unit of German renewables operator Encavis AG (ETR:CAP) has acquired a 53-MW portfolio of wind farms for Luxembourg-based special fund Encavis Infrastructure II (EIF II).

Encavis Asset Management AG has bought four wind parks in the regions Northrhine-Westfalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, developed and realised by BayWa r.e. The plants generate enough power per year to supply about 41,000 households.

"Large transactions in the wind energy are hard to find in Germany and require a lot of specialist expertise and strong partnerships," said Karsten Mieth, Speaker of the Board of Encavis Asset Management.

EIF II is offered exclusively by BayernLB and specially designed for banks and savings banks. It is administered by the service KVG HANSAINVEST LUX SA.
