EnBW closes takeover of Danish wind turbine servicing co CWS

German utility EnBW (ETR:EBK) said today it has successfully completed its previously announced takeover of Danish wind turbine servicing business Connected Wind Services A/S (CWS).

The transaction was agreed in early August and received the green light from the antitrust authorities in mid-September. It bolsters EnBW’s offerings related to the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and servicing of wind turbines, the buyer said.

CWS is a manufacturer-independent service provider that has local teams in Denmark, Sweden and Germany. About 50 service teams maintain around 1,800 wind turbines in these countries. Last year, the firm generated revenues of some EUR 35 million (USD 39m).

EnBW said that CWS will continue to be an independent brand and will be networked with its own activities for the further expansion of wind energy.
