Eko Elektrownie to build 1-MW biogas CHP plant in Poland - report

Nov 7, 2011 - Polish Eko Elektrownie SA will build a 1-MW biogas-fired combined heat and power plant (CHP) in southern Poland, national news agency Polska Agencja Prasowa reported last week.

The company's president Grzegorz Gawronski told the agency that construction of the plant will start in the third quarter of the coming year. The company has already signed letters of intent to supply feedstock for the plant, which will process agricultural residues, he added.

The project's cost is estimated at PLN 16 million (USD 5m/EUR 3.7m). Eko Elektrownie will finance the project from own sources, through equity or bond issues and preferential credits.

The project is planned to be completed in the autumn of 2013.

Eko Elektrownie intends to build other biogas power plants in the region through public-private partnerships.
