EIB mulls EUR 25m loan to Natixis green power investment fund

(ADPnews) - Dec 20, 2010 - The European Investment Bank (EIB) said on Friday it is considering providing a loan of up to EUR 25 million (USD 33m) to Eurofideme 2, a fund of Natixis Environnement & Infrastructures.

The Eurofideme 2 fund is a second generation investment fund that focuses exclusively on the renewable energy sector in Europe. It will invest in projects prior to the construction phase and will accept resource and supply risk during the operating period. It will focus on southern Europe and take part in projects with a total investment size of EUR 10 million to EUR 80 million, with a minimum investment cost of EUR 2 million.

The fund plans to establish partnerships with small and medium-sized developers in southern Europe to allow them to bring the necessary equity or quasi equity needed to obtain senior debt.

Natixis Environnement & Infrastructures, a fully owned subsidiary French investment bank Natixis (EPA:KN), is a fund management company specialising in providing equity financing to environmental and infrastructure projects with more than EUR 1 billion in assets under management.
