December 20 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) announced on Thursday that it was awarded 307 MW of wind power under a 15-year contract-for-difference (CfD) in Poland's recent auction.

The wind power will come from a total of 11 wind farms expected to become operational in 2021 and 2022.

With this new contract, the renewables arm of Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) now has a potential capacity for 2022 of over 750 MW of onshore wind power, it stated in its press release.

This agreement also helped EDP to secured 74% of the roughly 7 GW of wind and solar build-out capacity it targets for the 2019-2022 period, as presented in its Strategic Update, EDP noted.

Earlier this week, EDPR was also awarded a 20-year CfD for its 33-MW Xironomi wind farm at a tender held by Greece’s Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE).
