EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) has decided to move the general shareholders meeting to the city of Oviedo, northern Spain, from Madrid in light of restrictions put in place in the Spanish capital to limit the spread of the coronavirus disease COVID-19.
The renewables arm of Portuguese power utility Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), headquartered in Madrid, originally planned to hold the meeting on March 26, or in case of no quorum, on April 2, in a Madrid hotel.
However, the Spanish government of Tuesday suspended all closed-space gatherings involving more than 1,000 people in Madrid, the region of La Rioja and two municipalities in the Basque Country and prohibited direct flights from Italy to Spain until March 25.
On Wednesday, EDPR informed that the next meeting will take place at its offices in Oviedo and advised its shareholders to exercise their voting rights through a representative or by voting remotely. The dates and the meeting agenda have remained unchanged.
According to the Spanish health ministry’s latest update on March 11, 1800 local time, Spain has 2,140 confirmed coronavirus cases.
