March 7 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) announced today it has signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) under which it will sell wind power to Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT).

The 15-year contracts have been signed by EDP Renewables North America LLC. It will supply the tech giant with electricity from the 125-MW Timber Road IV wind park located in Paulding County, Ohio state. The facility, which is expected to go online in 2019, can generate enough pwoer for 36,000 homes, the company said.

When operational, Timber Road will be the fourth wind park EDPR has in Ohio, thus lifting the firm's portfolio there to 392 MW, or more than 40% of the wind installed capacity in the state.

Recently, EDPR also entered into a PPA for 104-MW of wind with the Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association (Tri-State) in Colorado. Microsoft, on the other hand, closed a solar PPA for 74 MW with Invenergy.
