July 4 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) announced on Wednesday that it was awarded а 20-year contract-for-difference (CfD) for a total of 30 MW of wind power in Greece's recent auction.

More specifically, the renewables arm of Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) will deliver power from the Chalkodonio wind farm, located in Central Greece. Commercial operation of that facility is scheduled to start in 2022, the company said.

No financial details were presented in the press release.

Last year, EDPR announced its entrance in the Greek market with the award of two 20-year CfDs for a combined wind capacity of 60 MW.

Greece’s Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) awarded about 179.55 MW of wind power capacity in a technology-specific tender held on July 1.
