EDP Renovaveis, Goldwind to jointly bid for wind capacity in Morocco - report
Jul 26, 2012 - Portuguese green power firm EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) and Chinese Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208) will jointly bid in a wind energy tender in Morocco, business daily Jornal de Negocios reported today quoting the CEO of EDP Renovaveis, Joao Manso Neto.
Morocco will soon launch a tender for licences for installation of 850 MW wind power capacity in the country.
EDP Renovaveis and Goldwind will possibly invite more partners in the second stage of the process, Neto added.
Goldwind is 26.7% owned by China Three Gorges, which bought a 21% stake in EDP Renovaveis' parent group EDP (ELI:EDP) after winning the bidding in the latest stage of the group's re-privatisation process.
