EDP Renovaveis agrees on EUR 46m financing for 57 MW wind farms in Belgium
Jul 31, 2012 - Portuguese green power firm EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) has reached an agreement on EUR-46-million (USD 56.5m) financing for three operating wind farms with a total 57 MW in Belgium.
The project finance was executed with two European banks, the company said in a regulatory filing yesterday.
EDP Renovaveis expects to receive the money by the end of September 2012.
The financed capacity is installed in the region of Walloon. Some 47 MW of the total capacity was installed in 2008 and 10 MW a year later. The total capacity has a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
EDP Renovaveis continues to diversify its funding sources on the back of top quality projects and access to local project financing at a competitive cost, the company said in the statement. In 2012, the firm has already closed project finance agreements worth EUR 223 million.
