September 24 (Renewables Now) - The North American arm of EDF Renewables will acquire a 50% stake in New York City-based distributed generation (DG) solar firm EnterSolar as part of a newly agreed strategic partnership.

EDF Renewables North America and EnterSolar will be working together to offer behind-the-meter services to corporate commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. The deal envisages EDF Renewables providing growth capital and additional project financing capabilities to EnterSolar.

EDF Renewables’ executive vice president, Raphael Declercq, stated that the new partnership will create complementary synergies, pointing at EnterSolar’s customer satisfaction track record and EDF Renewables Distributed Solutions' experience in ground-mount projects of up to 30 MWp.

The announcement did not mention how much EDF Renewables is paying for the 50% stake.
