EDF EN, Mitsubishi Corp's unit to set up 72-MW wind farms in France
Jul 16, 2013 - EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN), the renewable energy unit of French utility EDF (EPA:EDF), announced yesterday it had signed a partnership deal with Diamond Generating Europe, part of Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation (TYO:8058), for the construction of four wind farms in France with a total capacity of 72 MW.
No financial details were disclosed.
The two companies will set up a 50/50 joint venture company which will manage the project.
EDF EN will supervise the construction of the farms in the northern departments of Aisne, Nord and Pas-de-Calais and will provide asset management services after the launch of the facilities in 2014.
The deal will reinforce EDF EN's position in France and will widen its wind energy portfolio.
