DK Energy US, a subsidiary of
French power utility EDF (EPA:EDF), on Friday said it had acquired Groom Energy Solutions LLC in the USA.
Through the acquisition, DK Energy US, tasked with growing the US business of EDF's energy services company Dalkia, has further expanded its offering of tailor-made energy solutions for buildings, cities, municipalities, regions or industrial sites.
Over the last decade, Massachusetts-based Groom Energy, has positioned itself as a specialist in energy efficiency and sustainability solutions, including on-site renewable energy installations like vertical, rooftop or horizontal type wind turbines, solar thermal or photovoltaic (PV) solutions. Its main customers work in the retail, refrigeration, hotel and food-processing industries.
The US energy services market is growing over 10% a year for industrial customers, according to the press release and Groom Energy will now benefit from Dalkia's support and technological innovations developed in Europe to promote decentralized energy generation and remote management of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) facilities.
