UK-based EDF Energy Renewables said on Thursday it is giving up on its plan to build a seven-turbine wind park in Nottinghamshire, England.
In a press release, the company said it will not be developing its plans for the Maumhill wind project any further in light of the recent changes in UK onshore wind policy. The withdrawal of the Maumhill proposal comes a month after the firm abandoned a 10-turbine scheme in East Riding of Yorkshire for the same reason.
Initially, EDF Energy Renewables planned to erect nine turbines on the Maumhill site, but the Bassetlaw District Council’s planning committee refused the application in February 2013. The firm then presented a revised proposal for seven turbines at the same site.
EDF Energy Renewables is a 50/50 joint venture between EDF Energy and EDF Energies Nouvelles.
