EC Bioenergie starts pellet production at fourth German site

(ADPnews) - Oct 29, 2010 - German biomass company EC Bioenergie GmbH, or ECB, yesterday said it started pellet production at its fourth pellet site in Germany.

Regular production will commence in mid-November this year. The plant, whose construction took two years, will be manufacturing up to 115,000 tonnes of pellets per year.

Through its subsidiaries, EC Bioenergie provides biomass for biomass fuel plants as well as for biomass power plants. Thermal plant maker Energiecontracting Heidelberg AG, a subsidiary of ECB, will use part of the pellets in its facilities and a further amount of the units will be sold by another subsidiary of ECB -- Bioenergie Handel GmbH.
