EBRD provides EUR 5m for sustainable energy projects in Bosnia
(ADPnews) - Nov 23, 2010 - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said today it will grant a EUR 5 million (USD 6.7m) credit line to UniCredit Bank for on-lending to Bosnia-based private companies investing in sustainable energy.
Loans of up to EUR 2 million will serve to support companies investing in industrial energy efficiency, small renewable energy production and energy efficiency in commercial buildings.
The financing to UniCredit Bank, part of UniCredit (BIT:UCG), is extended under the EU/EBRD Western Balkans Sustainable Energy Credit Line Facility, a EUR 60 million joint framework to support banks involved in lending for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro.
Since the beginning of its operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EBRD has committed over EUR 1.2 billion in more than 80 projects in various sectors of the economy.
