Dutch Tauw, Ecofys to intensify cooperation in wind energy
Dec 12, 2013 - Dutch consulting and engineering company Tauw said Tuesday it would intensify its collaboration with renewable energy consultant Ecofys in the field of wind energy.
By combining their expertise the companies will be able to play a leading role in the implementation of wind power projects, which will contribute to the government's target to have 6,000 MW of onshore wind capacity installed by 2020.
Tauw will primarily focus on early-stage project development, such as zoning plans and structure visions, environmental impact assessments, licence management, landscape studies and various ecological and hydrological studies.
Ecofys will deploy its expertise to examine the potential negative impact of wind turbine shadow flicker and noise, and the potential benefits from lower CO2 emissions as well as to calculate revenues and returns.
Tauw and Ecofys have already been working on various wind energy projects, including a planned wind farm in Emmen, north-eastern Netherlands.
