The Dutch government has released details about the upcoming tender for the Borssele III and IV offshore wind sites.
According to regulation published by the Ministry of Economic Affairs last Friday, the tender will open on September 15 and will run until September 29, law firm Loyens & Loeff said. Borssele III will have a capacity of at least 331 MW and up to 360 MW, while Borssele IV will be of between 351 MW and 380 MW.
Last week Danish state-owned utility Dong Energy A/S (CPH:DENERG) won the concession to build the Borssele I and II offshore wind farms in Dutch waters, each of 350 MW. The company won the tender with an average bid strike price, excluding transmission costs, of EUR 0.0727 (USD 0.081) per кWh.
The price cap for the new tender has been set at EUR 0.11975 per kWh. According to Loyens & Loeff this probably will no longer be relevant given the competitive results of the first Borssele tender.
The subsidy ceilings are EUR 2.4 billion and EUR 2.6 billion for site III and site IV, respectively.
