DSM, nature preservation organisation team up in biomass
Dec 16, 2013 - Dutch speciality chemicals group DSM (AMS:DSM) and local nature preservation organisation Vereniging Natuurmonumenten announced Friday they would jointly look for a partner interested to use biomass from nature reserves for energy production, among others.
Areas under the supervision of Natuurmonumenten annually release 175,000 tonnes of biomass in the form of reed, grass, straw and wood residues. The biomass might be used as raw material for the production of energy, fuels and materials.
DSM has the necessary knowledge and technology to make biomass suitable for sustainable application.
