Sep 20, 2012 - Polish steel products distributor Drozapol-Profil (WAR:DPL) yesterday said it had acquired an 8-MW wind project in southwestern Poland's Opole province from local wind farm developer and operator Windprojekt.
The acquisition is part of Drozapol-Profil's strategy to diversify into the renewable energy sector.
The company bought the project through its special purpose vehicle DP Wind 1, formed on September 11, following a letter of intent signed with Windprojekt on September 3, 2012.
Drozapol-Profil intends to start work on the project immediately. It calculates that the acquisition and construction costs would come at PLN 50 million (USD 15.5m/EUR 12m). DP Wind will provide PLN 12 million of the required financing and secure a bank loan for the rest.
