DP Cleantech to convert coal power plant to biomass in Thailand
Sep 28, 2011 - Denmark-based biomass and waste-to-energy solutions provider DP Cleantech last week said it had received an order to convert a coal-fired power plant to burn biomass in Thailand.
The converted plant will have 20 MW of electricity generation capacity and burn waste wood and eucalyptus bark.
The power plant will provide electricity and steam to a bioethanol plant which is currently under construction by Thailand's TPK Ethanol and is expected to produce 1 million litres of bioethanol a day.
DP Cleantech said this was its first project of that size in Asia.
