Jul 01, 2022 17:05 CESTMay 17 (Renewables Now) - London-based investment management firm Downing LLP announced today that one of its entities will buy a 30-MW onshore wind farm in Finland from German project developer Energiequelle GmbH.
Specifically, Bagnall Energy Limited, the renewables and infrastructure arm of Downing Estate Planning Service, has agreed to acquire the Konttisuo wind farm near Soini in the region of Southern Ostrobothnia, upon its completion.
Energiequelle is currently building the plant and expects to complete it in the second quarter of the year. The facility will consist of seven N149 turbines supplied and serviced by Nordex.
This is Downing’s first investment in Finland, the company noted.
“Our pipeline of potential acquisitions is looking very healthy and we look forward to adding further attractive opportunities to the portfolio in due course,” said Tom Williams, Head of Energy & Infrastructure at Downing.
