Dong Energy to get EUR-240m loan from Nordic Investment Bank
Sep 20, 2011 - Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) will provide a EUR-240-million (USD 328m) loan to Danish state-owned utility Dong Energy A/S to fund in part the construction of the Anholt offshore wind power facility.
The loan matures in 10 years, NIB said in a statement today.
The Anholt wind farm will be located between Jutland and the island of Anholt. It is estimated to produce enough power to meet the needs of over 400,000 Danish households, or to cover 4% of national power demand.
The project will include 111 wind turbines with a capacity of 3.6 MW per unit. It is expected to come on stream in 2012.
