Deutsche Windtechnik sets up unit in Taiwan to service Wpd's Yunlin

November 5 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine servicing company Deutsche Windtechnik AG said today it is creating a subsidiary in Taiwan where the company will service Wpd’s 640-MW Yunlin offshore wind farm upon completion.

The new regional unit, Deutsche Windtechnik Co Ltd, will be responsible for wind turbine maintenance, both above and below water, as well as for the technical management of the wind park. It will be in charge of the management and provision of logistics, maintenance for the foundation structures and for substations and transition pieces.

The German company noted that it is currently holding talks with Taiwanese universities to secure qualified new recruits from the region for the long term. The plan is to add about 25 professionals to the local team. This includes the crew of the newly-built Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV).

Carl Rasmus Richardsen, Hendrik Boschen and Jens Landwehr will serve as the managing directors of the new Taipei-based subsidiary.
