April 2 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine servicing company Deutsche Windtechnik AG said today it has agreed maintenance contracts for several Spanish wind farms with a combined capacity of 274 MW.
Securing the new contracts expands the turbine service portfolio of the company’s Spanish subsidiary, Deutsche Windtechnik SLU, by 40%, or 213 additional turbines. The wind farms in question are located in different regions of Spain and consist of 130 Gamesa G80 and G52 wind turbines, 40 units of NEG Micon’s NM52 machines and 43 of Vestas’ V90 turbines.
Under the terms of the contracts, Deutsche Windtechnik will conduct all operation and maintenance (O&M) activities for these wind farms for at least the next two and a half to four years.
This is the largest set of new service contracts ever signed by Deutsche Windtechnik in Spain, according to the announcement. The German company did not name the other party but noted it is a long-standing customer in Spain.
