(ADPnews) - Sep 15, 2010 - US offshore wind power developer Deepwater Wind LLC announced on Monday that it had relocated its headquarters to the state of Rhode Island from New Jersey.
Located in the city of Providence, the office was opened in April 2009. Managed by only one employee at the beginning, it has been lately expanded to accommodate staff from Hoboken, New Jersey.
Deepwater Wind's move is associated with its plans to roll out an offshore wind farm in state waters off Block Island. The 8-turbine project is a pilot one before the company start works on a 100-turbine proposal further off the Rhode Island coast.
The new headquarters also welcomed new chief administrative officer and senior vice president for strategy and external affairs -- Jeffrey Grybowski, who will coordinate Deepwater's development efforts in the Northeast and will lead the company's public-policy strategies.
Grybowski will work in the Providence office as part of a nine-member team, comprising chief executive William M. Moore, chief development officer Paul Rich, managing director and chief of technology, projects and operations -- Chris van Beek and Aileen Kenney, director of permitting.
