Aug 24, 2011 - A consortium led by German geothermal drilling company Daldrup & Soehne AG (ETR:4DS) won a tender for the geothermal drilling for the project Aspern-Essling in Vienna, Daldrup announced today.
The order was placed by Geothermiezentrum Aspern GmbH. As a result, the order backlog of Daldrup rose to EUR 100 million (USD 144.6m).
The drilling is to start in the fourth quarter of 2011 and will continue for 12 months.
According to the project plan, by 2028 have to be built 8,500 dwellings, where 20,000 people can live, as well as premises for 15,000 office employees and 5,000 industrial workers.
