CWind JV concludes bathymetric survey at Yunlin offshore wind project

October 23 (Renewables Now) - CWind Taiwan has successfully completed a bathymetric survey at Wpd’s 640-MW Yunlin offshore wind project in Taiwan, it was announced today.

The firm has deployed a survey vessel equipped with multibeam echosounder (MBES) to map a 5.25-sq-km section of the project site. At the same time, the JV commissioned an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to conduct shallow water and land surveys.

Construction work on the Yunlin offshore wind park is expected to start in 2020, the statement says. It will consist of 80 turbines and will be built in two stages.

CWind Taiwan is an offshore wind support services joint venture between Global Marine Group’s (GMG) CWind business and International Ocean Vessel Technical Consultant (IOVTEC).
