January 9 (Renewables Now) - UK’s Cubico Sustainable Investments is about to land in the Greek renewable energy market after signing an agreement to acquire a company that runs a 21-MW operational onshore wind farm.

The vendor of the targeted company, K-Wind Kitheronas Energy SA, is Athens-based Intracom Holdings SA (FRA:INTA), Cubico announced on Thursday.

The wind farm’s 12-MW extension,  which is expected to go under construction in the first quarter of 2020,  is also included in the purchase agreement.

Financial details have been kept under wraps.

The Kitheronas wind farm, located in Central Greece, has been in operation since 2015.

The London-based renewables investor expects to close the acquisition in the first quarter of 2020, after which it will seek to expand its presence in the country.
