Cubico Sustainable Investments Ltd said today it has acquired a 67-MW wind park in Valencia, Spain from local wind farm developer and operator Enerfin, a unit of Elecnor SA (BME:ENO).
The London-based renewables and water infrastructure firm’s portfolio now reaches about 2 GW of gross capacity across wind, solar and hydro assets. “Cubico is excited about the opportunities in Spain and we are looking to grow our assets in the country,” said David Swindin, head of EMEA at the company.
As part of the latest acquisition, renewable energy investor Plenium Partners took a minority position in the power plant in the municipality of Jarafuel in Valencia. It will act as asset manager of the park, which comprises 29 pieces of E-70 Enercon turbines operational since 2009. Plenium Partners already manages or co-owns 1,175 MW of renewables.
