Council approves 7-MW Scottish wind park by 2020 Renewables
Jun 27, 2014 - UK firm 2020 Renewables Ltd has received clearance from the North Ayrshire Council to build a 7-MW wind park at Sorbie Farm, to the north of Ardrossan Hill, Scotland.
The company intends to begin construction works by mid-2015.
The GBP-10-million (USD 17m/EUR 12.5m) scheme will consist of three wind turbines, each with a height of 104.3 metres (342.2 feet). Together, the machines will be able to produce enough electricity to power 3,500 households a year.
The Sorbie wind farm will provide roughly GBP 34,000 a year in benefits for the local community during its 25-year life.
